Are the 76ers and Jazz not contenders?

Fandom of the day goes to the NBA Conference leading Philadelphia 76ers and Utah Jazz. The media coverage will have us believe that the only real contenders are the Lakers and Nets. We say the standings matter and the 76ers and Jazz are real contenders for the title. What say you?
